3D MODELING AND PHOTOSIMULATIONS

Naiad Design uses Sketchup software to prepare accurate three-dimensional models of existing and proposed elements of the built environment: architectural forms, public spaces, streetscapes, etc. The models range in purpose from simple volumetric massings created to understand bulk, height, and placement; to more elaborately rendered scenes showing the character and details of an environment; to animated walk-through simulations showing how people would use and travel through a space. Models may be prepared from scratch or based on imported AutoCAD or other digital models. One advantage of Sketchup, compared to other modeling software, is that simulations may be prepared fairly quickly and therefore at a lower cost.

Naiad Design also uses Sketchup model output in concert with Photoshop to create before-and-after photorenderings, which place a proposed development or design concept into photographs of the existing site.
